Part-time Administrative Assistant

The City of Mason will accept applications for the position of Part-time Administrative Assistant under the supervision of the Mason Fire Chief. Applications and job descriptions are available on the City of Mason website (mason.mi.us/hr.htm) and in the Clerk/HR office at City Hall, 201 West Ash, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.

This position is part-time, 25 hours per week. Hours are flexible. The position requires a high school education as well as considerable knowledge of clerical and secretarial procedures and practices including a working knowledge of Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.

Election Inspector / Receiving Board Member

City of Mason Election Inspector City of Mason is seeking individuals interested in being Election Inspectors for the upcoming August and November 2018 elections. Being an Election Inspector is a great way to learn about the election process, serve others in your community, and earn some extra money. In addition, if your place of employment gives you election day off why not spend it giving back to your community!!!

All Election Inspectors must attend mandatory training and could work up to fifteen (15) hours the day of the election. We are looking for individuals who have strong computer skills (working with a laptop in particular), who give strong attention to detail, and enjoy working with the public.

Receiving Board Member - If working a full day is not for you we are also in need of Receiving Board Members. These individuals come in around 8:00 p.m. the evening of the election to double check the work of the Election Inspectors so individuals seeking this position should be able to give strong attention to detail. Receiving Board Members must attend mandatory training as well. NOTE: If interested in just Receiving Board Please write “Receiving Board Only” on top of your application. Additional Requirements

All Election Inspectors and Receiving Board Members must be 18 years of age and a registered voter in the State of Michigan. Individuals who are 16 or 17 years of age and are interested in being an Election Inspector please contact the City Clerk for more information.

Seasonal-Temporary Laborer

The City of Mason is seeking Seasonal-Temporary Laborer. This is up to a 40-hour per week seasonal/temporary position for the Department of Public Works with a pay rate of $12/hour. Job duties consist of grounds-keeping and general maintenance of City property which may include mowing and trimming using hand and riding mowers, weed whip, and other hand and power tools. Applicants must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License with a good driving record. Applicants must also be able to verbally communicate with other staff and the public. Work hours are typically from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. A pre-employment physical and drug test will be performed.
