Part-time Secretary to the Chief of Police

The City of Mason will accept applications for the position of Part-time Secretary to the Chief of Police until 5:00 pm on Friday, August 18, 2017. FINANCE DIRECTOR/TREASURER

The City of Mason is currently accepting applications for the position of Finance Director/Treasurer. This is a regular, full-time position with excellent benefits. Salary DOQ. Under the general direction of the City Administrator, this position will assume full responsibility for all Finance/Treasurer duties including supervising and maintaining records of revenue accrued and liabilities incurred, examining payrolls, bills and other claims against the City, supervising the collection and recording of money received in payment of taxes, permits and licenses, special assessments, water and sewer charges, and other charges payable to the City, supervising centralized accounting activities and operations, supervising bookkeeping and clerical employees and activities involved in purchasing, assessing, accounting, payroll and related work, preparing or supervising the preparation of various accounting reports, including balance sheets, trial balances, operating statements, expenditure analyses and other statistical data, participating in the preparation and distribution of tax rolls and bills, special assessment bills and other bills for municipal services, supervising the preparation and distribution of delinquent tax rolls and the collection of delinquent taxes and property taxes, and supervising tax refunds and preparing bond and interest requirements and accounts. SEASONAL-TEMPORARY GROUNDS WORKERS

The City of Mason is seeking Seasonal-Temporary Grounds Workers. This is up to a 40-hour per week seasonal/temporary position for the Department of Public Works with a pay rate of $10/hour. Job duties consist of grounds-keeping and general maintenance of City property which may include mowing and trimming using hand and riding mowers, weed whip, and other hand and power tools. Applicants must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License with a good driving record as well as the possession of a high school diploma or the equivalent. Applicants must also be able to verbally communicate with other staff and the public. Work hours are typically from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. A pre-employment physical and drug test will be performed.
