Administrative Assistant – Community Development

The City of Mason will accept applications for the position of Community Development Assistant under the supervision of the Community Development Director. Applications and job descriptions are available  in the Clerk/HR office at City Hall, 201 West Ash, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. This position will provide administrative and clerical support to the Community Development Director. The Community Development Assistant serves as the general office manager and is responsible for assisting applicants, processing development applications, scheduling meetings, hearings, and inspections, and coordinating distribution of correspondence and materials. This position is part-time 20-25 hours per week.

The position requires a high school education or equivalency, paralegal certificate or college degree preferred. Clerical, Geographic Information System (GIS), Adobe Acrobat Pro, BS&A Software experience would be preferred. Bookkeeper – Part-Time

The City of Mason will accept applications for the position of Part-Time Bookkeeper under the supervision of the of the Finance Director/Assistant Finance Director. Applications and job descriptions are available in the Clerk/HR office at City Hall, 201 West Ash, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.
This position performs accounting and complex clerical work, including the maintenance of a variety of financial records and reports; maintains ledgers, accounts, journals and other accounting records; prepares correspondence, records and reports; calculates and prepares water and sewer bills, maintains water and sewer accounts; completes payroll and summary reports for payroll system; assists with customers and general telephone operation. This position is part-time 25 - 29 hours per week at $13 - $15 per hour.
The position requires a high school education or equivalency, with emphasis on accounting courses. Experience in accounting; including related clerical work. Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, accounting principles, and commercial arithmetic.
