POLICE OFFICER

The Mason Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of fulltime Police Officer. This position offers a comprehensive and competitive benefit package. Under supervision of the Chief of Police; a sworn law enforcement officer who performs a broad range of police activities. A person in this position is responsible to serve the public through the knowledgeable enforcement of state laws and local ordinances. A police officer has general responsibilities to maintain order, regulate traffic, protect life and property, prevents crime and disorder; and to perform related work as required. A police officer will typically perform basic patrol and investigative tasks, but may be directed to complete special assignments or tasks.

PART-TIME CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

The Mason Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of part-time Code Enforcement Officer.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Police, the Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for enforcement of the City of Mason Zoning Ordinances and Nuisance Codes; investigating complaints of violations; seeking voluntary compliance through education and cooperation from those found in violation of the City Code of Ordinances; initiating enforcement action, including court appearance citations; assisting the Community Development Director with conducting on-site inspections throughout the City to determine compliance with state and local codes, ordinances, and standards pertaining to health, safety and welfare.

SEASONAL-TEMPORARY GROUNDS WORKERS

The City of Mason is seeking Seasonal-Temporary Grounds Workers. This is up to a 40-hour per week seasonal/temporary position for the Department of Public Works with a pay rate of $10/hour. Job duties consist of grounds-keeping and general maintenance of City property which may include mowing and trimming using hand and riding mowers, weed whip, and other hand and power tools. Applicants must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License with a good driving record as well as the possession of a high school diploma or the equivalent. Applicants must also be able to verbally communicate with other staff and the public. Work hours are typically from 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. A pre-employment physical and drug test will be performed.
