City of Mason Public Notices/Citizen Info

Yard Waste Pickup
Granger will begin yard waste pickup on Friday, April 7, and will discontinue it on Friday, November 24.
You can access the guidelines here.

Traffic Crash Reports
Effective May 1, 2016; the Mason Police Department will no longer provide copies of UD-reports to the public.  In our ongoing efforts to maximize department efficiencies and reduce costs while promoting an easy user friendly option for citizens and businesses to quickly acquire copies of their traffic crash reports, our officers will refer all persons involved in a traffic crash recorded on a State of Michigan UD-10 form to the internet web site Michigan State Police Traffic Crash Purchasing System by searching HERE on your browser.  The officer will provide drivers with information needed to purchase a report.

Lack of access to a computer is not a problem.  The Traffic Crash Purchasing System can be accessed by anyone; your insurance company, attorney, or friend or family member by simply entering either the drivers name or the police report number, date of birth and the date of the traffic crash.  The web site itself is linked to an easily understood FAQ page with answers to most frequently asked questions.

Hazardous Waste Collection
The Ingham County Health Department will be collecting hazardous waste on Tuesday and Thursday, from 2 – 6 pm during the months of May through September. Collection location is 5303 South Cedar Street in Lansing (on East side of the Health Department – follow “Household Hazardous Waste” signs). For a listing of what is accepted and what is not, go to http://hd.ingham.org/Home/EnvironmentalHealth.aspx or call 517-887-4312.

Building Code Adoption
Please be advised that the State of Michigan has adopted the 2012 edition of the Michigan Building and Rehabilitation Codes and will be effective October 9, 2014.  The City of Mason has adopted the Michigan Building and Rehabilitation Codes by reference.  All new construction, rehabilitation, alterations and similar activities within the corporate limits of the City of Mason must comply with the Michigan Building and Rehabilitation Codes 2012 on October 9, 2014.  More information regarding the recent adoption of the 2012 code may be obtained at www.michigan.gov/bcc
